Welcome to Fossy7 where I offer you a choice of harmonicas for beginners right through to professional players. This site though, is mainly for beginners who wish to purchase good quality harmonicas from one of the leading manufacturers (Suzuki) and one of the lesser known (Merano) which are exclusive to Fossy7 in the UK.

The harmonica is the ideal instrument for someone wanting to play a musical instrument with minimal outlay, including students who may be learning to play the harmonica at school. In its simplest form the harmonica can be an easy instrument to play, but at the same time is a surprisingly complex instrument as many of the websites explaining the theory of the harmonica will testify to. One of the common confusions is which key to play in for the various positions. Please see my simple guide to keys and positions below.

Which Harmonica or position should I use?

Harmonica Key Change Table
Harmonica	1^st Position	2^nd Position	3^rd Position
	Straight Harp Commonly used for simple melodies and a folk-rock style. Your basic starting and/or ending place would be hole 4 blow.	Cross Harp. The most common position for blues, country, and rock. Your basic starting and/or ending place (point of resolution) would be hole 2 draw.	Third position Great for songs in minor keys and minor blues. Your basic starting and/or ending place (point of resolution) would be hole 4 draw.
