The 50'/60's Music Scene in Portsmouth There is currently a great revival in interest in the 50's and 60's music scene in Pompey. Spearheaded by Dr Dave Allen from Portsouth University, this project has bought back together many people who played in bands and groups locally during that period. Please take a look at the blog containing comments from many local people and also the Flickr picture site showing many of these old groups and bands.

The Barleycorn Jam Night located in The Barleycorn Pub at Nutbourne on the main road to Chichester. You will be sure of a warm welcome from Beverley the landlady. Just bring your instrument or voice. PA, drums and backup musicians always available. This jam night is very popular so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The Cellars A small local public for all types of music gigs, including blues. Due to its size, the atmosphere is very intimate and exciting. Has featured some big names in music.

Blues At The Fort . An annual event on Portsdown Hill featuring many top blues acts.

Redlick Records. An excellent site for lovers of Blues music. They list some really obscure disks and their prices and service is excellent.
